One Half

....my baby is 1/2 a year old today.


My eyes are teary and half of my heart is smiling while the other half is breaking. Don't get me wrong, I am so blessed to have a happy, healthy, beautiful baby girl, however, today I just want to "pause" time and make this moment last a little bit longer.

It just seems like yesterday you came into this world and we heard you cry for the very first time. We waited a long 9 months to hear the song that you sang that day and for the 3rd time they placed a beautiful baby in my arms and you slipped right into my heart.

You are growing way to fast and even though you still rely on us for so many things, I can see your own little person shining through a little more each day. I often look at you and wonder if someday when you are a mother will you know exactly how I feel when your babies are growing up before your very eyes. Will you wonder why time has to go by so quickly? Will you wonder if you are doing all of the right things? Will you wonder what they will be when they grow up? Will you wonder what Gods special plan for them will be? Will you look at them when they are 6 months old and cry because 1/2 of a year of their life has passed? Sometimes I wonder.

How blessed am I that my baby is 1/2 a year old today? I am blessed beyond measure, I am blessed without a doubt!

1/2 A Year Old Today

You laugh with a belly laugh

Your smile can melt a room full of people

You hair has started to come back in around the side, however the middle is still out of control.

You sit up all by yourself

You love to play with your brothers

You love bath time

Rocking you to sleep rarely happens. You would much rather just stretch out in your bed with your pacifier and your lovey and go to sleep on your own

You love music

You are a Pa and Iya's girl

You reach for different people to take you

You take great naps, go to bed around 9:00 and sleep until 8:30 or 9:00 most mornings

....you are 1/2 a year old, after all!

My Conversation with Reece

Time and Place: Yesterday evening while in the car on our way to Caden's baseball game. Pa and Iya are in the front and I am sitting in the back seat with Reece and Ellee.

Mommy: Reecer you need a haircut!

Reece: Bubba too?

Mommy: Bubba too!

Reece: Daddy and Stater (dog) too?

Mommy: Daddy and Stater and MOMMY too!

Reece: Oscar (dog that passed away several years ago) already got a haircut.

Mommy: Huh?

Reece: Oscar already got a haircut.

Mommy: Who gave it to him?

Reece: Jesus did!

Mommy: Absolutely! Jesus did!

Thanks for reminding me that God cares about all of his creations no matter how big or small.

Fabulous Friday Favorites

Cradle

BIG GIRL bed!

It's official, Ellee now sleeps in her room 100% of the time. She has been sleeping in there during the day since we brought her home from the hospital, however, at night she was right beside our bed in her cradle. Last night I made the hard move and once again it proved to be harder on me than it was on her. She slept like an angel tossing, turning, moving all around in her BIG GIRL bed. Of course I went into check on her at least 15 times in the night and she was never in the same position as the time before. I guess she loved being able to move around and I guess it didn't bother her one bit that it made me a little sad to leave her in there every time I walked out of her bedroom door. I missed her noises, I missed hearing her breath, but most of all I missed knowing that she was right there with in arms reach.

She's growing way too fast!

Who knew....

....that bowling 2 games with 6 kids would take 3 1/2 hours?

Not me!

Kindergartners, 2nd graders and one lonely 7th grader who is amazing with the younger kids and tolerated them very well!

Hanging out with friends is a great way to spend a summer day!!!

Seriously! 2 Fives in one month!

Reece turned 5 on the 21st and Ellee Rae turned 5 months on the 30th.

Where does the time go? Why does it have to go by so quickly?

When I was a little girl I remember my Great Grandma Mable telling me that the older you get the faster time goes. Now that I am older I finally understand exactly what she meant. It does go by way too fast! There are nights when I tuck my kids into bed that I wish I would have just stopped cleaning, stopped doing laundry, stopped cooking and sat and did nothing except watch my children grow. They are growing in amazing ways and I don't want to miss a single minute of it.

They are my everyday......and I am who I am because of those 3 little lives that fill up my heart!

Ellee Rae - 5 Months

You eat 2 jars of food for lunch and supper

You roll from side to side and move much too fast already

You are trying to figure out the crawling thing, which is really hard on your Mommy.

You hold your bottle.

You love your monkey and your lovie blanket.

You love your jumperoo

So far you have loved going to all of your brothers games.

You absolutely adore your brothers and you know how to melt their hearts with that smile you give them.

Ell~ I can't believe 5 months have come and gone already. It just seems like yesterday we brought you home to two brothers who didn't know what to do with you. You make us complete and I am so very thankful for the gift we received when God gave us you.

Celebrating Late

Better to celebrate late than not at all.

All Reece wanted to do for his birthday was have a pinata in the park with his 2 very best friends, Sam and Tucker. Tucker was on vacation the week of Reece's birthday, so we had to wait until he returned and his birthday wish came true.

Less than a minute after the pinata was broke open Reece says OK! I want to go home now!
